From Holden Farm there are a multitude of activities and great pubs just a short drive away. To help you with your stay we have handpicked a few of our favourites.

Cheriton

– 3 min drive or 1 hour walk.

The village of Cheriton is a beautiful English thatched village at the source of the River Itchen; perfect for smaller children who are content with playing pooh sticks and feeding the ducks on the village green.

The village shop is open from 7am till 6pm (except Sundays 8-12pm) for your camping essentials. You can pre-order delicious local fare, including locally grown burgers, sausages etc for your weeekend (Just call 01962 771 251 to discuss your requirements). Please use the Shop order form to guarantee local food to your tent before arrival.

The village pub, The Flower Pots is an award winning pub and micro brewery; offering a wide selection behind the bar and a simple bar menu.

We are lucky to have the National Trust property of Hinton Ampner on the doorstep and The Hinton Arms pub next to it which has an extensive menu.

Alresford

Alresford

– 9 min drive or 2 hour walk

The beautiful market town of Alresford had its own website managed by local residents – please visit the site for all the latest news and events.

Highlights include the Alresford Millenuium Trail, The Watercress Line and great boutique shopping. There are 5 pubs in Alresford offering something for everyone; The Globe, The Swan, The Bell, The Horse and Groom and The Cricketers.

The historic city of Winchester offers never ending exploring opportunities including Winchester Cathedral, Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium, The Great Hall featuring King Arthur’s Round Table.
