Camping at Holden Farm

Our campsite is a traditional campsite for tents. We provide excellent clean facilities including spotless flushing loos, hot showers and washing up facilities. The major unique point of Holden Farm is the space – space for children to run around safely and space so you don’t find yourself camping on top of your neighbour. Your stay with us will be a real camping experience in the countryside; you will be able to experience nature at its best and watch the farm at work. We will always have space for those walking the South Downs Way.

The campsite is situated in a very large grass field with plenty of space for children to play. There are no designated pitches and the field contains 20 fire pits which you are able to book. If you do not want a fire pit – book a pitch without one! On the booking system, we have a maximum of 8 people per pitch. If you are a group of more than 8 people, you can book 8 people on to one fire pit pitch and the rest of the group on to a standard pitch.  So you are next to each other, please mention the name of your friends on your booking to help us out. On arrival you choose where to camp – this can be near the facilities or over 200m away.

Campsite Etiquette

+ We are a small, family-friendly campsite on a working farm – we want our campers to have a peaceful and enjoyable time and welcome only acoustic music around the campfire.

+ All noise must be kept to a minimum after 11pm.

+ There is a strict 5mph speed limit within the farm and camping field.

+ Holden Farm Camping is used by all persons at their own risk. Camping at Holden Farm only entitles you to access the camping field and the farm drive from the public road to the campsite itself.  All other parts of the farm and fields are strictly prohibited.

+ We are a working farm and parents should ensure children are properly supervised at ALL times and not allowed to stray from the safety of the camping field.

+ Whilst we make every effort to ensure a safe campsite, we cannot accept responsibility for your possessions or personal injuries sustained whilst on the property or having campfires.

+ We retain the right that if any campers do not adhere to the above terms and conditions, we retain the right to ask you to leave site.

We encourage you to use the designated fire pits for enjoying marshmallows, but please not do not use the fire pits to cook as this encourages vermin on the scrounge! Logs can be purchased on site from the camping office.  We also have bricks on site for you to borrow for your disposable BBQ.

Looking for a fire pit? We have 20 fire pits on site and encourage you to use the designated areas for sitting round and enjoying toasted marshmallows and their warmth. Please book in advance.

We try to keep our pricing as simple as possible – we simply charge per person per night and a small fee for a fire pit.  There are no hidden charges for well-behaved dogs, hot showers, gazebos, etc.  You can bring as many tents as you like and of any size.

Pricing per person/per night

Please note that we implement a £5 (per night) charge for firepits on Thursday through to Sunday.

We have an online booking system, where you can check availability and book your pitch.   Please note we have NO minimum night stay requirement, meaning you can stay for just one night.

If you are having any problems with the booking system or have any queries about the campsite, please do email us: or phone us on 07599 553740.

Groups of 8 or fewer

Payment Terms

+ Depending on how busy we are, it may be possible to have day visitors. We must be informed of this in advance and there is a charge of £5 per person.

+ We only charge for children aged 3 or over so there is no need to include younger children in the booking process.

Cancellation policy

We are happy to refund 75% of your payment if given more than 30 days’ notice by email and 50% of your payment if you cancel your stay with us at least 15 days in advance. Any less notice than this and unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds.

We have modern camping facilities on-site: clean flushing loos, hot showers and good washing facilities. We are so pleased to be able to offer you these facilities but please can we remind you that we are in a rural area; this means a septic tank so think before you flush – no baby wipes or elephant roll down the loo please! The space at Holden Farm is wonderful but it has meant that the locks on the loo doors are set high on the inside of the door out of the reach of children – this is to ensure no child gets locked in.

There is a communal fridge and separate freezer as well as charging points for a hair dryer and mobile phone.  There is also a communal ice machine and kettle.  We try to offer as much information as possible for campers but please do some research before getting here as mobile reception is not that good.

Clean flushing toilets
